Fail, Overcome, Repeat…

Don’t fear failure.  Without it, you have nothing to overcome…

On Saturday, we tested our planned workout for Sunday.  The objective – challenge your limits.  Work in a way that forces you to keep trying, to keep moving.  The result – a Clean Ladder Relay.  Working as a Team, you complete a heavy clean ladder (the final rung is around your 1-3RM).  1 person works, 2 rest.  You move as much weight as you can (SAFELY!) – 5 reps, increase weight/4 reps, increase/3 reps, increase.  Then, run 200m – then team member #2 goes, then #3.  Score = total weight moved in 30 minutes.

If you get stuck, you don’t just give up like you might do in a lone workout.  You can’t.  You have a team to contribute to.  You have to keep moving, keep trying.  Even if it means failing and trying again, and again.  It teaches you that, in most cases, you can do more than you give yourself credit for.

You’ll learn more about success by experiencing, and overcoming failure, than you’ll ever learn from only doing what you know you can.  You’ll learn to persevere, you’ll learn that one failure isn’t absolute failure, you’ll learn how to be better the next time…because you have to.

I love failure, because I hate it, loathe it, completely despise it…so, failing helps me keep trying, so I can say that I overcame it.  So, my recommendation to you is – Get outside of your comfort zone; by doing so, you expand it.  Continuing to do so will lead to successes that you never even imagined. Fail. Overcome. Be Reborne…
